The CISF Bokaro Unit established an Industrial Training Institute in August 1994 with the objective of providing wards of CISF personnel an opportunity to pursue technical and vocational education.
The institute was built and managed under the Central Welfare Fund. An amount of ₹84 lakh was sanctioned and utilized for the procurement of equipment and payment of staff salaries.
The centre was affiliated with the National Council of Educational Training through the DGT vide letter no. DGET/12(1)/96/TC dated 07 August 1996. The affiliation order was issued by the Director of Employment & Training, Patna, Bihar, vide letter no. NIJ SANSTHAN-05/95/1753 dated 17 October 1996.
